ABOUT

Dr. Schuh is an international expert on GHG validation and verification having authored or participated in the development of ISO 14064-3 (International Organization for Standardization) and ISAE 3410 (International Accounting and Audit Standards Board). She has conducted hundreds of verifications under the Alberta climate regulations–the first in North America–and pioneered GHG validation in her role at Emission Reductions Alberta, a funding agency that focuses on GHG emission reduction technologies. With a wide-ranging experience in many industry sectors, spanning agriculture to zinc-smelting, she works with governments to craft regulations, small to medium enterprises to realize carbon assets, and large international companies to develop strategies.

 

As President of le-ef.com Consulting Corp, significant projects include:

• Performing the GHG function for emission reduction focused funding agencies like Emission Reductions Alberta, Climate Change Innovation Technology Framework, and Energy Efficiency Alberta.

• Developing regulations or guidance for Canadian Clean Fuel Standard, Pacific Carbon Trust, Alberta Ministry of the Environment, British Columbia Ministry of Environment, World Resource Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Windmade Standard, and Verified Carbon Standard.

• Conducting carbon tax competitive analysis for the British Columba Business Council.

 

As Partner at PwC, she led and developed the Canadian Climate Change Practice; responsible for developing business, training personnel, conducting verifications, and ensuring quality deliverables. She assisted with the development of PwC’s global library of climate change auditing procedures and supported the United States in developing their Sustainable Development Practice.

  

Dr. Schuh also has extensive experience in the area of performance indicators and metrics; from conducting primary research during her doctorate to practical applications as a consultant to the City of Calgary, Suncor, Climate Change Emissions Management Corporation, and Toronto Hydro.

 

Dr. Schuh’s strength is the ability to take theory from different professions and alter it to work in different applications.
